Geoff Tate’s Operation Mindcrime. The Final Chapter delivered a mesmerizing performance at Minneapolis’s renowned Varsity Theater on April 22nd. The soldout show featured the full concept album Operation Mindcrime with additional tracks from Operation Mind Crime 2 to further the story line. In addition, Tate treated fans to a collection of hits including Silent Lucidity, Take Hold the Flame, Queen of the Reich, and more. Jeff’s vocals were amazing, just as they were when I first saw him in 1991 when Queen’s Reich supported Guns and Roses in Minneapolis.
The band’s tight musicianship and flawless timing created a pulsating energy that lasted the entire evening. Even the ghosts of the Varsity Theater seem to come alive with excitement. If you have the opportunity to see this show, I would highly recommend.
