Fall leaves are here, and St. Cloud’s city yard-waste service runs on Mondays citywide through the published season end of Monday, Nov. 23, 2026 (weather permitting). The next Monday pickup after today is Oct. 19.
Who gets the service
Yard-waste collection is for residential accounts on the City of St. Cloud garbage service. The city uses a volume-based system: customers buy specially marked clear City yard-waste bags and set them out for Monday pickup.
What goes in the bag
- Accepted: grass clippings, leaves, pine cones, pine needles, pumpkins, acorns, apples, and small twigs no bigger in diameter or length than a pencil
- Not accepted: yard waste mixed with rocks, Styrofoam, animal feces, food scraps or other foreign materials
- Bags must be the official City bags (sold in packs of 10 for $15, or $1.50 per bag). Other bags will not be picked up.
- Fill and knot the bag shut (no zip ties or string). Do not exceed 40 pounds. Put bags out by 6:00 a.m. on the Monday pickup day. There is no limit on the number of bags.
Branches and brush
Larger tree waste (branches, shrubs, cornstalks, woody vines) must be bundled in 4-foot by 1-foot bundles tied with twine, with a City yard-waste bag attached to each bundle. Limit is five bundles per pickup. Stumps and firewood are not accepted in this program.
