Hey guys, it’s Seven from illuminet and The Area Buzz, and I got another very special concert review for you. So guys, open up your ear holes and listen up. You ain’t going to want to miss out on this one. On Wednesday, April 29th, the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis transformed into a sonic Utopia as Geoff Tate took the stage for an unforgettable live concert that left fans buzzing with excitement.
The energy was electric. From the moment he stepped into the spotlight, it felt like time stood still. With a full house packed to capacity, every note reverberated through the crowd while Geoff’s powerful vocals soared effortlessly above his talented band’s intricate melodies. It was nothing short of magical when they launched into Operation Mindcrime performing the entire album with such precision and passion that it felt like each song had been reborn right before our eyes.
Seriously, I can’t believe I am saying this, but I think the last two times I have seen Geoff performing Operation Mindcrime live,.
It sounded better than when I heard him performing them with his old band.
There is so much energy with this talented lineup, and it really shows live on stage. Now, as if that wasn’t enough to set hearts racing, they seamlessly transitioned into fan favorites like Walk in the Shadows, Jet City Woman, Take Hold of the Flame, and more. Each performance ignited nostalgia among long-time listeners while captivating newcomers who couldn’t help but sway along to those iconic riffs and haunting vocals.
If you were lucky enough to be there, you would understand why I’m already counting down until I can catch Geoff again on his next tour. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just discovering this legendary artist for the first time, one thing is clear. This is a show you won’t want to miss. Make sure to keep an eye out for the release of his album Operation Mindcrime 3, which is coming out May 3rd.
